Le Mans Ultimate to benefit from YEBIS software to heighten realism

Endurance racers, who hold the 24 Hours of Le Mans as the pinnacle of their career, have to contend with more than producing a consistent performance, facing elite fields of competitors and technical reliability. The battle of man and machine against the clock also has to take in changing weather and track conditions and extreme day/night transitions and Le Mans Ultimate will be no different.

To be released worldwide on the 20th February 2024 in Early Access on PC via Steam*, the official racing game of the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans – will benefit from the integration of the post-effects system YEBIS, known for its advanced CG lighting and optical expression effects.

“Studio 397 developed an enhanced state of the art graphics engine,” says Dom Duhan, Head of Studio.  “That includes day to night transitions, changing weather conditions as well as a dynamic racing surface with rubber build up and marbles. YEBIS advanced optical effects greatly enhanced the quality and immersion of our graphics and we can see ourselves continuing to leverage it as we improve our graphics subsystem in the upcoming months and years.”

Photorealistic visuals are implemented in many areas within Le Mans Ultimate such as weather conditions, windscreen debris, realistic water flow, and puddles on the circuit. YEBIS post-effects contributes to the realism and dynamic visual expression in this racing environment through various optical and lighting improvement effects, such as depth of field, motion blur, glare, and other realistic and immersive lens effects.

The title will feature all the cars and circuits from a memorable year of racing in 2023, showcasing Hypercars such as Cadillac, Ferrari, Glickenhaus, Peugeot, Porsche, Toyota and Vanwall, and players will be able to experience the thrill of piloting iconic cars at spectacular laser-scanned circuits such as Sebring, Portimão, Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Fuji, Bahrain and legendary Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans.

“YEBIS’s technology origins are as a real-time simulation post effect solution for automotive simulation games, making for excellent compatibility with Studio 397’s expertise in the genre”, notes CEO of Silicon Studio Corporation, Shinichiro Kajitani. “The harmonious fusion of our technology and the developer’s experience enables the game’s visuals to reach their pinnacle, effectively conveying the passion and devotion of both users and developers towards cars and racing. We believe it is an exceptional game that will not disappoint the expectations of fans.”
